Turkey at the Exhibition: Decades of cooperation

12.05.2025 г.
For many years, Turkey has held leading positions in the global textile market. Turkish fabrics and ready-to-wear garments are in high demand today. The country’s rich textile tradition has deep historical roots. Since the time of the Ottoman Empire, Turkey has been renowned for its production of luxurious fabrics—silk, velvet, cotton—with skills and craftsmanship passed down through generations, preserving its unique heritage. At the same time, the Turkish textile industry is actively adopting modern technologies, and its factories are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery.

At the “INTERFABRIC” exhibition, the Turkish national pavilion traditionally occupies a prominent place among the best textile companies. We spoke with representatives of the Republic of Türkiye during the spring edition of the fair.

Yasin Ozdemir, Sales Director at MEM TEXTILE:

– Our company was founded in 1993 and ranks among the top 300 largest industrial enterprises in Turkey. It is the largest in the country and the second largest in the world in terms of Vortex yarn production capacity—100% cotton melange yarn.

Our core production is knitwear. We produce everything related to knitted fabrics—jersey, French terry, fleece, and slub knits. Our new products this season include jersey, interlock, single jersey, rib knit, polyester, lycra, as well as viscose, hemp, and linen. We also produce fabrics from American cotton.

We’ve been supplying fabrics to Russia for a long time, so it’s no surprise that our company has been participating in “INTERFABRIC” for several years now. We always receive excellent feedback at this exhibition. We sign contracts with both large manufacturers and small wholesalers. “INTERFABRIC” gives us an opportunity to better understand customer needs, which helps us identify which product features matter most. This improves our fabric quality, increases competitiveness, and helps us develop our marketing strategies. We have strong ties with Russia, and it’s very important for us to be part of such exhibitions, as they always bring in many new clients—especially since our company has always focused on the Russian market.

Endora is another long-time participant in the "INTERFABRIC" exhibition. Company Director Enal Açıkel shared:

– This is our eighth time participating in “INTERFABRIC”. This year was especially impressive—many more visitors, a wide range of companies represented, and we always manage to sign new contracts and meet new clients. Exhibitions like this play a major role in promoting our products.

Our factory is based in Istanbul, and we’ve been in the market for 35 years. Sixty percent of our output is exported. We’ve been active in the Russian market for 15 years now and have opened a branch in Moscow with offices and warehouses.

We produce 25 tons of fabric per day. Our main range includes knitted fabrics: French terry, fleece, single jersey. Our fabrics are used for everything from outerwear to underwear. They are natural fabrics—92% cotton and 2% lycra. We operate a fully integrated production cycle. In Russia, we work with both large companies and small wholesalers. Among our latest innovations is the adoption of photoprinting, which is currently in high demand. We can print any design, no matter how complex, directly onto fabric and produce it to the client’s exact specifications.
