The Russian sewing accessories market continues to evolve despite the challenges posed by current economic realities. The main trends are linked to growing demand for accessories from sewing enterprises, tailoring ateliers, clothing manufacturers, and retail consumers. As of 2025, the industry holds growth potential despite its reliance on imported materials and equipment, competition from Asian and European producers, rising raw material costs, and logistical difficulties.
According to a study by the company "Maxioma", the sewing accessories market demonstrated positive dynamics in both volume and value terms from 2014 to 2024, and the forecast through 2028 indicates further growth. Researchers note that demand for accessories directly depends on the overall state of the light industry — for example, in 2020, during the pandemic, 160.6 million buttons were produced in Russia, which is 16% less than the previous year.
The state of the Russian market is influenced by various factors, the most crucial being imports. The year 2022 was particularly telling: according to estimates, sewing accessories imports to Russia reached $109.5 million. China remained the largest supplier, with imports totaling $83.8 million — nearly 80% of the overall volume.
Russian manufacturers currently account for about 40% of the market. At the same time, domestic businesses are shifting toward local suppliers and expanding their own production capacities, which reduces parallel imports and strengthens the internal market.
The "INTERFABRIC" exhibition has traditionally supported Russian manufacturers, and the sewing accessories segment is no exception. Within the General Industry exhibition, nearly 100 participants are already confirmed in the section "Accessories, Trimmings, and Decorative Materials". These include leading companies such as “Gala Polygraph”, PNK “Krasnaya Nit,” “IVNIT”, “Weshine Label”, “Strong and Furtex”, “AFA”, “Tex Trade”, and many others. In the exhibit, key players in the sewing accessories market will showcase their achievements in Halls 9, 10, and 11 of Pavilion 2.
