“Rembyt” was founded in 1998. Since then, the company has been successfully operating in the production of cords, laces, braids, ribbons, and elastic tapes. Starting out with the simplest lace-making machines, over the years the company has launched several directions, including the production of woven, knitted, braided, and other types of trimmings. The production is located in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Moscow Region, and the equipment fleet is annually expanded with the latest modern machines.
Denis Sergeevich Semenov, Deputy General Director for Development at “Rembyt,” spoke about the company’s history, product range, and participation in the INTERFABRIC textile exhibition:
– Our company was established back in the early 1990s. We started out under a different brand – Viatax. At that time, we were engaged in supplying polyester products, namely threads: we imported thread and sold it here. Later, we decided to shift toward production. Initially, we manufactured shoe nails – for specialized footwear. However, demand for them gradually declined as branded footwear producers like Adidas began to enter the Russian market. Naturally, the need for laces started to grow. And in 1995–1997, we purchased our first machines for cord production. In 1998, we launched our own full-cycle production, and it was we who started supplying finished laces for Adidas, Ralf Ringer – to their factories localized in Russia.
This became our main direction – shoelaces for footwear manufacturers, and it still remains one of our core activities. Today, we purchase ready-dyed polyester thread for our clients and from this thread produce laces of specific colors. Threads are imported into the country from India, China, Belarus, and we also have Russian suppliers.
The next stage in our company’s development was the production of ribbons. We bought knitting machines and began producing edge tape of various widths, weights, and colors. Our tape is used for seam edging, both internal and external. It is essential for sewing clothing, slippers, and other products – basically anywhere a finished edge or piping is needed. We also have decorative tape – at the exhibition, by the way, we presented a variety of designs – it is most often used in slippers: when they are trimmed, a beautiful pattern is created. Raw materials for the ribbons are sourced from China, India, and Belarus.
We are participating in the INTERFABRIC exhibition, if I’m not mistaken, for the third or fourth time. Previously, we took part in another textile exhibition, then there was a period when we didn’t exhibit at all. After returning, we decided to attend INTERFABRIC and evaluate the situation in our field. As a result, we decided to transfer our exhibition activity to this platform: the entire sector we needed was right here. And it’s not just about clients – that’s not the only point of participating in INTERFABRIC. An exhibition of this level usually ensures the market remembers you. It’s an important image-building event.
