Before the official opening of the
Russian Textile Week, the State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation
Victor Yevtukhov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science
Vyacheslav Nikonov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation
Sergey Katyrin answered the journalists’ questions.
Evaluating the integration of the leading industry exhibitions within the Week,
Victor Yevtukhov called it very good and expressed the wish that more companies would take part in this event. He noted that in comparison with last year, representation of Russian manufacturers increased twice. Particularly gratifying is the growing number of nonwovens.
Answering the questions of journalists,
Vyacheslav Nikonov said that one of the main tasks of the industry, he considers, is the task of import substitution, since in the 1990s there was deindustrialization of our country and the market was filled with imported goods of not very good quality. The integration of the country into the Eurasian economic space helps to accomplish this task.
Supporting this idea,
Sergey Katyrin noted that due to integration into the Eurasian space, Russian manufacturers are increasing the number of buyers. And the competition that inevitably occurs when the market is expanding, spurs the struggle for quality and price reduction.
