The
Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation expects to maintain such a measure of state support for the textile industry as subsidizing interest on loans within the next three years.
According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia
Viktor Evtukhov: ‘We plan to maintain effective state support measures in the next three years, such as subsidizing interest on loans for raw materials, current activities and technical re-equipment, subsidizing the production of worsted and polyviscosic fabrics for school uniforms, and implementation of the program of preferential equipment leasing. Moreover, an active cooperation with leading foreign brands in contract production will continue.’
This statement
Evtukhov made at the last meeting on the development of the garment industry. The event was attended by representatives of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry, ZAO Pskov garment factory Slavyanka, representatives of the Russian Outdoor Group, OAO KhBK Shuyskiye Sitsy, SportTex, OOO Antey, Verona, and also representatives of the leading enterprises of the industry.
“The light industry, especially in the segment of clothing, footwear and home textiles, is a large part of the country’s total trade turnover, and as of 2016, the garment market amounted to about 1.9 trillion rubles, and we intend to focus on supporting the development of sewing and shoe production in Russia. We have quite good competencies here, despite the fact that consumer demand for domestic products is not so high yet, we can confidently state that we have learned to work no worse than European and Chinese competitors, “-
Evtukhov stated at the meeting.
