«Life Form» Project: New free video lessons on adaptive clothing design for veterans of the special military operation launched

02.06.2026 г.

As part of a large-scale support program for military personnel who have sustained injuries and trauma, «SOYUZLEGPROM» and the organizers of the Industry-wide International Textile and Apparel Exhibition «INTERFABRIC» are introducing a new series of educational materials.

The free video lessons and detailed methodological guides are designed to assist fashion designers, clothing manufacturers, and volunteers in creating functional and comfortable wardrobes for veterans of the Special Military Operation who have undergone amputations or suffered complex injuries.

The development of adaptive fashion has become a logical continuation of a series of expert discussions held during the International Exhibition «INTERFABRIC» under the common slogan «More Than Clothing».

Earlier, a specialized workshop was held in Moscow, where light industry experts, rehabilitation specialists, and garment engineers discussed the creation of specialized clothing solutions. The initiative received support from SOYUZLEGPROM, which can facilitate the development of a comprehensive open library of adaptive clothing designs.

The new series of materials focuses on the detailed development of technological solutions and the design of everyday garments that help people regain mobility, independence, and self-confidence after severe injuries.

The development of adaptive clothing represents a significant technological challenge for the Russian light industry. As emphasized by SOYUZLEGPROM, the primary objective of the project is to move away from the exclusively «medical» appearance traditionally associated with such products. Clothing for veterans of the Special Military Operation should be modern, stylish, and aligned with current industry trends while remaining fully functional.

The presented lessons establish a ready-to-use knowledge base that will enable any garment manufacturer, local brand, or volunteer organization in Russia to launch its own adaptive clothing line.

The «Life Form» Style Laboratory for Veterans of the Special Military Operation project is implemented with the support of Moscow Mayor’s Grants for socially oriented non-profit organizations provided by the Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy of the City of Moscow.
